Sibella´s New York

I have no plans (yet) to visit New York in the nearest future (at least not this year), and money is the only reason for that. But, if luck stricked this way and I was to go, I would bring along this book. Here, Australian born interior stylist, Sibella Court takes you on shopping tours around the city, guiding you to stores off the beaten tracks, giving you simple to follow routes using your feet and the subway.

If you are in to interiors and like to look for stores that offer the unusual, I believe this is the book for you.

En av årets flere julegaver til meg selv tror jeg må bli boken "One" av den australske stylisten og tidligere moteredaktør for Vogue og Cosmopolitan, Victoria Alexander. En bok om hvordan nyte livet, elske og sette pris på seg selv og livet, enten du er singel eller i et forhold. Tørre å ta tjangser og kanskje kreve mer? Ikke bare har den kloke ord og fine historier, men også et vakkert design og nydelige bilder trykket på deeeilig matt papir... Akkurat som vi liker det! ;-)

A book I´ll definately give myself for Christmas is "One" by Australian Victoria Alexander, stylist and ex fashion editor for Australian Vogue and Cosmopolitan. "One" is about celebration of individuality and life. A book on how to enjoy life and the importance of believing and valueing ourselves, and accepting who we are and loving it, either you are single or with someone. Not only is the book filled with a great collection of stories, quotes and reflections, but is also beautifully designed and full of wonderful images printed on loooovely matt paper. Just the way I like it! :-)

Etcetera Etc.

Da jeg var på Island for noen uker siden, ble jeg introdusert til en nydelig bok ved navn Etcetera Etc. Boken er et sukkertøy for øyet og minner meg om min aller, aller største favoritt, The Diaries of Courtney Love (beklager, Courtney, tror jeg har fått meg en ny favoritt...). Boken er skrevet av den australske stylisten, Sibella Court og er spekket med inspirerende stylingtips, nydelige fargepaletter og hundrevis av deilige bilder tatt av broren, Chris.

When I was in Iceland a few weeks ago, I was introduced to a lovely book by the name Etcetera Etc. The book is a real eyecandy and reminds me of my absolute favourite, The Diaries of Courtney Love (sorry, Courtney, think I got myself a new favourite now...). The book is written by the Australian stylist, Sibella Court and is filled with great and inspiring styling tips, beautiful paint palettes and hundreds of wonderful images taken by her brother, Chris.

The great Selby

På tirsdag fylte jeg år igjen (tiden flyr så altfor fort når man har det gøy...), og selv om det ikke ble den aller største feiringen fikk jeg noen fin-fine gaver. I tillegg klarte Amazon å levere første boklevering av tre på dagen min, og ble dermed det den nest største gaven av dem alle (Spa gaven fra kjæresten min ble en klar vinner).

Første bok ut var "The Selby is in your place", og man kan vel si det var kjærlighet ved første titt!

A year has gone since my last birthday and yesterday it was time to celebrate again (wow, time flies when your´re having fun!) Well, I

didn´t really celebrate, but I got some very nice presents. On top of that Amazon was able to deliver the first book out of an order of three, and instantly became my second favourite of the day (the Spa treatment I got from my boyfriend was definately the winner).

First one out (there´s two more to come) was " The Selby is in your place", and I guess I can say it was love at first sight!

A little skeptic....

Jeg må ærlig inrømme at jeg har vært litt skeptisk til e-bøker. Har ikke helt klart å se for meg en fremtid med en laptop i fanget hver gang en god bok skal nytes. Det finnes nesten ikke noe som er mer tilfredstillende enn å sitte med en nydelig designet bok i fanget. Bla, se og nyte...

Men, når jeg oppdaget "Vild med vegetar" av Louisa Lorang på ebog.dk, var jeg solgt!

En nydelig designet e-bok som visuelt gir deg go´følelsen. Nesten som "ekte vare". Oppskriftene frister også.

Tror jeg må logge meg på og kjøpe....

I have to admit that I have been a little bit skeptic to e-books. I haven´t really been able to see myself with my Mac in my lap every time I´m going to enjoy a good book. There is nothing more satisfying than holding a beautiful designed book. Flipping the pages, feeling the fine paper, and getting high on beautiful images.

That was until I discovered the danish vegetarian cookbok " Vild med vegetar" by Louisa Lorang on ebog.dk.

A delicate designed e-book, that visually gives you the "real thing" feeling.

The recipes are also very tempting.

I guess I have to log on and start shopping.

I love Love!

En av mine favoritt bøker kjøpte jeg da jeg var i U.S.A for noen år siden. Et virkelig sukkertøy for øyet! (i hvertfall for mine...) Boken heter Dirty Blonde, og er en samling fra dagbøkene til rockestjernen Courtney Love. Boken er fylt med nydelige tegninger, bilder og tekst i et vakkert, kreativt kaos.

I bought one of my absolut favourite books in the U.S some years ago. A real eyecandy in my eyes... The book is called Dirty Blonde, and is a collection from Courtney Love´s diaries. The book is filled with gorgeous drawings, images and text in a beautiful, creative chaos.
