More from the orchard

Another feature that is out now (also done in the lovely apple orchard), and which made the cover, is a feature with twleve tips and ideas on how you can create a romantic and colorful environment with the optimal summer feeling in your own garden/backyard.

One of them a romantic swing made out of an old bamboo chair found in a local fleamarket.

The recipes and the "how to´s" can be found in this summer issue of BoligPluss which is out in the stores now.

Cool cradle...

I am trying not to buy everything new for the baby, and while searching the net for a bed/crib to renovate,  I found this cool cradle. The cradle from little green factory/Green Lullaby is made out of corrugated cardboard, and is designed to cater for the babies first few months. It is light and easy to assemble/disassemble without any tools, and therefor perfect for travelling. Worried about the safety of it? Don´t worry, it is protected by a unique non-toxic fire retardant and meets the European safety standards!

Definately on my wishlist!

Flower power!

Right outside my house, just divided by an old fence, is a wonderful apple orchard which is perfect for summery photoshoots (and great garden parties). Around this time last year, Tara and I moved some of my livingroom furnitures outside to create a colorful and romantic atmosphere. The topics was flowery, new fabrics and here are some of the pictures. Some of you might have seen it already as it is featured in Elle Decoration, Norway, which is out now. I am really happy how the pictures came out, and I guess Elle Decoration is too since it made the cover :-).

Busy bee...

I can´t seem to keep my promises and again there has been an absence when it comes to blogging (SO SORRY!!!).
My head and time has been filled with work, renovating and preparing for the little one that will arrive some time in August. Living in a house from 1920 there´s A LOT to be done... New bedroom, baby´s room, and hopefully a new bathroom later this fall.
Now, only a few weeks away, it is time to slow down and bloggging is a really good help to make me try and do so. Just need to find some interesting topics to blog about ;-).
Have to admit that I am spending a few hours a day searching the net and magazines for inspiration for our new rooms, and I have almost decided on the result. This is how I picture our bedroom will end up looking (a white and grey base), with our own designed bedside tables and closets. Can´t wait!

Me like!

I am one of those who like to stack away things that are ugly, and fire exstinguishers are one of them. In the last place I lived, the previous owner had made a wooden box to keep it in. I was a one happy girl when she let me keep it.The fireman though, wasn´t very happy when he came on his yearly visit to see that I had my safety equipment in place. In case of a fire, the exstinguishers should be handy at all times and seconds can matter when it comes to keeping the fire from spreading.

The Swedish father and son, Göran and Lucas Dahl shared my opinion that exstinguishers are not the prettiest thing there is, and wanted to do something about it. They idea of  making safe and approved exstinguishers in trendy colors and patterns came up, and here is the result.

Give me a bunch of white ones (a silvergrey can also do!), and I´ll gladly have one on display in every  room of the house!

Last chance!

On this coming April 28th.and 29th., I am doing my last workshop in a year or so. If you have been  thinking about joining my course, this will be the last chance for a while. Having a baby in August, I guess it is going to keep me occupied for a while :-).
Set in wonderful Bikuben, in the small village of Tofte, there will be two days of learning the difference between shutters and f-stops, depth of field, composition, a few lighting techniques and a whole lot more!
Sounds fun? Pls.contact me for more information and prices.

PS! You are able to join only one day, even though I would recommend two.

My porch

During the spring and summer months, in between renovating the house, photographying, photoshopping and whatnot, I spend as much time as I can on my wonderful porch. There, surrounded by lovely greens and my old nicknack, I am totally at peace.
After a cold winter, it is now time to get my garden gloves and my things from the loft, and get the porch ready for yet another wonderful season.

Totally blank!

There hasn´t been many blogposts lately, none in the last month to be correct. My excuse is not the work and going away, but the fact that I have had nothing to write about. Not that there´s not been anything to write about (actually it is the opposite... There are so much to write about!), my brain and my body has just taken some time off, and I have been totally blank.
Hopefully I am back to stay for a while now. I do have a busy spring though, with many big and exciting projects coming up. I am also expecting a baby girl in August, so if I am a little back and forth, pls.bear with me :-).
Spring is here though, and spring gives me lots of energy. So watch out, I might bombard you with blogposts from now on ;-)

Lovely Laleh!

Beautiful song and musicvideo by Swedish Iranian, Laleh.
Aaaahhh, me like a lot!

Another workshop

Last weekend I had my first workshop out of two in beautiful Bikuben, a cosy old house in my home village of Tofte. Eight eager girls met with their cameras to learn more about the wonders of photography. After a day or two of participation, they had all come far in learning how to use shutterspeeds and f-stops, and where ready to go out and practice on their own.

If YOU you want to know more about the difference between shutters and f-stops, small and large depth of field, how to "see the light", photograph white on white and a whole lot more, I am doing another workshop on April 28th.and 29th.

You can contact me here for more information and prices.

Hope to see you there!

Wonderful wallpapers

Wallpapers are hot and you can find them in all colors, patterns and variations. Even though I am not a wallpaper "gal" myself, my favourites are the "earthy" ones inspired by nature (surprised?). Despite my lack of lust for wallpapers (they are beautiful, I just think I would go bored with them very soon after I put them up), I couldn´t resist and HAD to take the strip of Andrew Martin´s "lumberjack"  home with me after the shoot, which now has its place in one corner of my living room (only for a short while though...).

These are a couple of images from a wallpaper shoot we did for this issue of Bo Bedre, Norway.
Want to know where they´re from? Leave a comment or send me an email and I´ll try to help you the best that I can.

Magic Marrakech

In a few weeks time, I am heading for Marrakech with my Icelandic agent, stylist, blogger and friend, Gerdur Hardardottir. Morrocco is one of my favourite places to travel with it its great contrasts, wonderful atmosphere, energy, smells and great light. Taking pictures here is just a thrill, with all the colours and the fantastic light flowing in everywhere.

These pictures are taken at Riad Enija, a 280 year old family palace where I stayed and photographed last time I was there. Once the glorius residence of King Kaid, the building was bought by a silk merchant in 1860, who renovated it and converted it into his own family retreat. Now the place is owned by the Swiss Ursula Haldimann, her Swedish husband Björn and their daughter, Enija Luna. This place really lives up to its philosophy; space and time unbound, a journey into the sublime realm of peace, reflection, self-discovery, tranquility, relaxation and pleasure. A dream!
On this coming trip we will photograph a few more wonderful riads. So look out for more posts from Marrakech later :-).

PS! I am considering holding a photography workshop in Marrakech in the spring of next year. Sounds interesting? Leave a comment here if it does, and I will contact you with further information.

Sneak preview: Fab fluorecent

Not too long ago, stylist Kirsten and I visited ex- co employee at Kvist (now Bolina), ceramist,
Silje Aune Eriksen in her colourful home in Briskeby, Oslo.
Her place is filled with colorful and humorous details and everywhere you lay your eyes, you´ll be suprised by a funny note, an animal of some sort and a great selection of cool design (chairs, lamps, tables and more) in the colors white, grey, black and neon pink. Silje is weak for ceramics (surprised?), and together with her own designs, her collectibles are neatly displayed throughout the apartment.
The feature will be out in Elle Decoration´s second issue of this year,
which will be out in the stores from February 27th.

Talking about...

Talking about black and white with the wooden dash, LOVELY isn´t it?

All images products to be found at Kvist.

Black & white (with a dash of wood)

Black and white combined is always chic and by adding a some wooden elements to it, I think it is even lovelier. The black and white calendar from Hay is still one of my favourites, but I think it is taken out of production :-(. I can´t seem to find it anywhere...

These images are a few in a series we did for Bonytt magazine earlier this year.

I´m in love

with this beautiful ceramic from Höganäs Keramik, designed by the Swedish design team Front, launched in 2010. I would love the teapot, in white matt or white blank (the grey I could also go for!), I can´t really decide... And of course the bowl, the coffee and tea mugs and the small plates that goes with. In 2011 they added more products to the series, and soon the new pitcher (bottom image) will be added and seen in the stores.

Getting closer...

There´s only ten more days of this month before we hit February, and only a month until my first workshop this spring. If you would like to know more about your camera, how to have control over your images using shutters, f-stops and ISO, learn how to get the perfect light and maybe shoot white on white, this is a workshop for you! On March 3rd.and 4th., in beautiful Bikuben, approximately 1 hour drive from Oslo, you are able to learn all that and a whole lot more.
Sound interesting? Send me an email for more information and prices.

PS! The workshop will unfortunately be held in Norwegian only.

Time flies (when your having fun!)

2012 has already started out to be a busy year and blogging has been put aside. Again :-(.
So far this year I have visited and photographed a couple of beautiful homes, photographed new wallpaper arrivals (LOVE Andrew Martin´s "lumberjack"), delicious cakes, and a cover for Elle Decoration, Norway. I have even judged the "global chic" challenge that NIB (Norske Interiørblogger) put out earlier this month.
My job is so varied and exciting and I am SO lucky being able to work with something that makes my heart beats faster. My job takes me to many new and great places both in Norway and abroad, and I meet so many wonderful people everywhere I go.
My collegues, all the great and talented stylists, make my job fun and inspiring.Together we try and create new and inspiring images for all you readers of this blog, other blogs and magazines around the world. Hope we are able to inspire you in 2012 too. I will definately try my best! :-)

Here are a few bedrooms I have photographed in the last couple of years which inspires me :-)
