Sneak preview: stylish stylist

Another beautiful house I shot in Iceland  a few months ago was the home of the finish/swedish stylist, Katri Tauriainen. It was love that took Katri from Sweden to Iceland 27 years ago. Since then she has managed to become well known for her work and is often to be seen in magazines and on tv, giving people advice on how to decorate their homes. Her own style is clean and well thought of, with white painted walls and floors, and with furnitures in neutral colors such as brown and black, often bought from-or inspired by- Africa, the far East or Oceania.

The feature will be printed in the Norwegian edition of Bo Bedre and is out in issue nr. 1 2011

Life is beautiful!

Yesterday I saw a sad documentary on VG TV about a young girl´s struggle with cancer. She died last Sunday, 28 years old. Later, when I turned on the tv, they showed the movie "the Bucket list" with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, a film about two older men who are terminally ill and has six more months to live. They decide to make the most out of it and starts to write a list of places to go and things to do before they "hit the bucket".
When I turned on my computer this morning there was an email saying a fellow photographer had passed away, 41 years of age.

What is a little backache compared to this?

Life can take turns you never expect...

So live your life like there´s no tomorrow
Stop complaining about little things
Be positive
and be nice!

I definately will!

I have sinned!

Christmas starts early for photographers like me, and in July the Norwegian magazine KK was all ready for their first shoot. The theme was a christmas get together with lots of styling tips, wonderful recipes, and great giftwrapping ideas.  Lucky me got this edible version home from the shoot, and I have to admit that it didn´t have time to go bad on me even when laying in that nice little box.

If you follow this recipe I think you´ll understand why...

Sexy chocolate balls:

You need:

200 grams good quality dark chocolate (at least 70% cocoa)
100 grams orange flavored chocolate
2 dl cream
150 grams butter
cocoa powder
Also if you prefer:
Neatly chopped orange peel
A few drops of your favourite liquor
Crumbs from a favourite buscuit.
Nicely chopped almonds

You do:

Chop the chocolates
Put the cream in a pot and bring to a boil and pour over the chopped chocolates. Stir well. Stir the butter until soft and add the extra ingredients (Liqour, orange peel etc.)
Put the mix in the fridge until cold and stiff.
Use a spoon to dig out the mix and roll them quickly into little balls. When finished, roll all the balls in cocoa powder.
